Building Permits & Inspections


Submitting Permits

Permits must be submitted online through the city's permit portal.

If you wish to submit hard copies in person, they may be dropped off at City Hall. Additional fees apply for hard copy submissions.

For any commercial or residential development, site plan approval is required before submitting a building permit application.

Site plan applications cannot be submitted through the building permit portal. Applications and applicable fees must be submitted directly to the main office.

Owner Builder Forms

Owner Builder forms are required in addition to a building permit application when a homeowner is acting as their own general contractor.

This requirement applies to:

  • New home construction
  • Remodels completed by the owner
  • Home additions completed by the owner

Accessory buildings do not require an Owner Builder form.


Inspections

Scheduling

  • Call 801-731-4187 to schedule inspections
  • 24 hours notice is required for all inspections

Inspection Hours

  • Monday – Thursday
  • 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • No inspections on Fridays

Additional Information

  • Inspection reports can be emailed
  • Please include an email address on the permit application
