The Farr West City Public Works Department and Storm Water Department handle many responsibilities that help the city run effectively, including:
- Roads
- Sewer
- Parks
- City facilities
- Storm water
- Garbage can deliveries and replacements
- Snow plowing
These departments work year-round to make the city a pleasant place to live, work, and play.
📋 APPLY FOR CITY PERMITS ONLINE
Most city permits can now be submitted online through the Farr West City Permit Portal.
Before applying, property owners and contractors can review zoning information using the Farr West Interactive Zoning Map.
Building permits, excavation permits, bore permits, and many other permit applications can be completed and tracked online.

Excavation and Bore Permits
As of January 1, 2024, all excavation and bore permit applications must be submitted online through the Farr West City Permit Portal. Select "All other building permit applications" in the portal.

- Liability insurance information
- Complete traffic plan
- Detail plan of work area
Additional Requirements

Pre-construction verification of all city utilities (storm water and sewer) — possible pot hole or camera footage of each utility

Post-construction verification of all city utilities (storm water and sewer) — possible camera footage of each utility
Permits will not be approved until all required information is submitted. An inspection is required at each pre- and post-construction utility verification; schedule through the office at 801-731-4187.
