For the most personalized answers, residents should create an account or log in to Peny. When logged in, Peny can answer based on the resident’s account and location information. If not logged in, Peny can still answer general garbage service questions.

Blue Cans

Blue cans, formerly used for recycling, are owned by Econo Waste and are picked up bi-weekly on the posted schedule.

Blue cans are now used as additional garbage cans.

Bi-Weekly Blue Container FAQs

Important Notice
Effective September 5, 2024, Farr West City will no longer participate in recycled material collection. There is currently no recycling facility accepting residential recycle material in Weber County.

Farr West City now allows residents to keep their blue container and use it for solid waste. Blue cans are no longer referred to as recycle cans and are billed as Bi-Weekly Blue Containers.

Am I required to keep a blue can?

No. If you no longer want the blue can, please notify Farr West City. The City will schedule a day for it to be picked up.

The can must be empty before pickup. Once removed, it will be removed from your monthly utility bill.

What if my blue can is broken or breaks in the future?

Residents have the following options:

  • Possibly replace the blue can with a used blue can
  • Have the broken blue can picked up and canceled
  • Purchase an additional black can for $160

How much will it cost if I have one blue can and one black can?

Each black can is $11.55/month.

Can I use my blue can for green waste?

Farr West City recommends contacting Plain City to obtain a punch pass and use their green waste landfill.

There is currently no location in Weber County accepting residential recycle material.

Why is the blue can picked up bi-weekly and not weekly?

Per contract, Econo Waste picks up black cans weekly and blue cans bi-weekly.
